ASL Starts New Shipyard in Batam

ASL Marine Holdings of Singapore has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Intan Overseas Investments (IOIPL), has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, PT. Sukses Shipyard Indonesia (PT SSI) in Batam, the Republic of Indonesia to offer shipbuilding and repair services. 
 
IOIPL will be making an initial cash injection of US$250,000 (comprising 250 shares of US$1,000/- each) towards the paid up capital of PT SSI. The Group's investment in PT SSI will be funded through internal resources. 

Headquartered in Singapore and publicly listed in the Singapore Stock Exchange ASL owns four shipyards in Singapore, Indonesia (Batam) and China (Guangdong) providing a comprehensive range of services including shipbuilding, shiprepair and conversion.

The firm also owns and operates a fleet of marine vessels consisting of tugs, barges, dredge support vessels, anchor handling tugs (AHT), anchor handling towing / supply vessels (AHTS), chemical tankers and other vessels. Through these, it provides marine support services to various industries including offshore oil and gas, marine infrastructure, dredging, land reclamation, marine construction works and cargoes transportation.

A wholly owned subsidiary Vosta LMG, which holds patents on specialized equipment such as cutter teeth, is a main provider of marine engineering and products servicing the dredging and land reclamation industry.
