Yang Ming Successfully Implements AMOS

SpecTec has successfully completed the implementation of AMOS on the first lot of 40 ships with Yang Ming. SpecTec will install AMOS on another 11 ships during the course of 2011, while more system will be implemented in 2012 to complete the Fleet installation which is to date of 89 ships.

SpecTec has shown once again to be the only IT Company in shipping which, with its capacity of 300+ employees located in 25 offices all over the world, can deliver large fleet solutions in time and within the terms of the contract.

Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (traditional Chinese: ????; pinyin: Yáng Míng H?i Y?n) is an ocean shipping company based in Keelung, Taiwan. This shipping line was founded in 1972, but has historical links in merger with the (Taiwan government part of) China Merchants Steam Navigation Company, which dates back to the Qing Dynasty (1872–1995). As of July 2011, Yang Ming had a fleet of 89 vessels and 14 bulk carriers, including two coal ships operated for others. Of the fleet, container ships were the backbone. The total capacity was 353 thousand TEUs and the total D.W.T. was 5.77 million.

Currently, Kao Ming Container Terminal Corp., our affiliate, is engaged in terminal investment at Kaohsiung Harbor of Taiwan. Phase One of the project, involving the construction of two berths, was completed at the beginning of 2011 and the terminal has become Yang Ming’s Far East transshipment base; Logistics Service - YES Logistics Corporation provides integrated sea, air, inland freight forwarding services. It maintains outposts in major gateways in Europe, America, and Asia. In addition, YES owns and operates the only multi-temperature warehousing logistics center in Kaohsiung Harbor, Taiwan, providing clients with professional, effective and total logistics services around the world; Cultural Undertakings - In order to fulfill the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation established the Yang Ming Cultural Foundation on May 13, 2005, mainly for intensive promotion of maritime cultural education.
