Toddler Survives Hour Under Capsized Boat

A 23-month-old girl has survived in a pocket of air under an overturned boat for about an hour.

The boat overturned in the Indian River in Cocoa, Florida, on Friday.

Police on the scene rescued the two adults and an infant that were on board, but could not immediately find the toddler.

However, the family could hear the child crying, and she was subsequently found under the boat.

The girl had been kept afloat by a life jacket, according to police. The family were all checked by paramedics and found to be in good condition.

An investigation is underway.
