EU NAVFOR reports that a Taiwanese owned fishing vessel reported being under attack on December 25.
The FV SHIUH FU No 1 was approximately 120 nautical miles off the northeast tip of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean when the vessel reported being chased by a skiff.
There have been no further communications with the fishing vessel since the initial attack was reported leading officials to believe the vessel has been successfully pirated.
There is a crew onboard of 26, which includes Taiwanese, Chinese and Vietnamese nationals.
