CHIRP: Engine Failure, Newbuild Steerage Issues and Pilot Ladders

The CHIRP Charitable Trust has published its latest newsletter Maritime Feedback 51 and its latest video broadcast Bulletin 10.

Feedback 51 is the second report of 2018 and contains reports on emergency procedures for disabled passengers, newbuild poor steerage and rudder discrepancies, expiry dates on provisions, safe working practices and combination rigged pilot ladders. It will shortly be available online in four languages; English, Chinese, Tagalog and Dutch.

Video Bulletin 10 deals with topics from Feedback 50 such as a failed rescue boat lift, a main engine failure, overtaking and crossing and unsafe practice while painting a ship.
