A Crowning Achievement

More than one-million people turned out at the weekend to watch a 1,000-boat flotilla as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
And taking centre-stage at the pageant on the River Thames was the V.Ships managed Spirit of Chartwell, which had on-board Her Majesty and other members of the Royal Family, including the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Edinburgh.
The parade took place on Sunday, June 3, and was one of the key events as the nation celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s 60-year reign. John Brechin, Managing Director of V.Ships UK, said: “I am delighted to say that the pageant went well and was watched by millions from around the world.
“The owner donated the Spirit of Chartwell to the pageant organisers for the day and the organisation took many months involving many different authorities.
“I would like to thank the Glasgow team for their sterling efforts in getting the Spirit of Chartwell prepared for the occasion and making the day such a memorable one.”
Bob Bishop CEO of Ship Management, said: “We are delighted to have been involved in such a momentous occasion.
“It was fantastic that everything went to plan and that we were able to play such a significant role in the celebrations.”
