Man Reported Dead in North Sea

An offshore support vessel worker has reportedly been found dead in the North Sea off Norway. The man was discovered near the semi-sub Leiv Eiriksson about 200 kilometres north-east of Stavanger, where Total is drilling the Trell prospect, says Norwegian news site Nordlys.no.

The man reportedly worked for Eidesvik Offshore on the Viking Athene platform supply vessel. Nordlys says the man was a Norwegian in his mid-30s. He was confirmed dead after being recovered from the sea, Nordlys quoted Eidesvik chief executive Jan Fredrik Mehling as saying.
