This week, a company spokesperson said the M/V AMIYA SCAN and its crewof four Russians and five Filipinos, have all been released after being held for ransom for over a month.

The ship, which was carrying a disassembled oil platform when it was captured in the Gulf of Aden, is now cruising toward Suez Canal. It was hijacked May 25 in the Gulf of Aden, bound for Romania.

The ship was freed on this past Wednesday and the company is not saying whether a ransom was paid as not to jeopardize negotiations over other ships and captives.
