Maritime Technology Alliance to Meet at MITAGS

The Maritime Technology Alliance (MTA) is holding a meeting at MITAGS on Monday, November 20, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. in the Academic Conference Room.

“The MTA is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the health and promotion of industry, academic, and government maritime capabilities resident in Maryland and the surrounding areas.”

The MTA was the inspiration of Maryland's U.S. Senator, the Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes. The current President, Mr. Richard E. Metrey, has forty-one years of distinguished service with the United States Navy. The MTA is made up of a Board of Directors with diverse backgrounds in the naval and maritime arena.

The MTA was incorporated in August 2001. Since its inception, the group has worked closely with the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), Montgomery County, the congressional staffs of both Maryland and Virginia, the Carderock Division, numerous government entities, the University of Maryland, and several well-known maritime businesses.
