At the Boston Business Journal’s 13th annual awards dinner last evening, Eva Douzinas, co-founder and co-president of Veson Nautical, accepted the company’s Best Place to Work award. The award recognizes Veson Nautical’s achievements in creating a stellar workplace that attracts and retains employees. It was the third time in five years that Veson Nautical has received the honor. The company has also been named to the Boston Business Journal’s list of Fastest Growing Companies twice in the same timeframe—the two times it submitted its data.

Stated Douzinas, “Veson Nautical has added 80 new clients in the past three years, bringing us to more than 7000 users. We’ve just hired our 100th employee. The need to give our new and existing clients great service while continually innovating our products puts tremendous pressure on our rapidly growing staff. We strive to provide an exceptional work environment and company culture, so this prestigious award is especially meaningful to us.”

According to Barry Hartunian, Vice President, Human Resources, “We endeavor to balance the hard work of our talented global team with team building, individual recognition and fun. For example, our Veson Olympics brings together employees to promote teamwork as well as fitness. We regularly recognize employees who exemplify our Veson Nautical Values. And we make sure to include fun team activities such as sushi making and paint nights to name a few.”

Across Veson Nautical’s Boston, London and Singapore offices, there are opportunities for team members to solve complex, real-world problems for the dynamic worldwide maritime shipping industry that is responsible for the transportation of 90% of the world’s goods. The resulting market-leading innovative software enables shipping companies to transform the constant stream of information from vessels, the market, and more, into a strategic advantage.
