Recent Austal Defense Activities

Austal has been at the centre of a number of defence related activities over the last few weeks. Of particular note:

• On January 7, the first Cape Class Patrol Boat for the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service was launched during a ceremony with staff and suppliers at Austal's shipyard in Western Australia. Read more...

• On January 14, the United States Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC) extended the charter of the Austal high speed vessel WestPac Express for six months with the award of a US$7.0 million modification to the contract announced in December 2011. Read more...
