Nicolas Occis Appointed Executive Director of HAROPA

Nicolas Occis, a Chief Civil and Forestry Engineer, has been appointed Executive Director of HAROPA - Port of Rouen. He succeeds Philippe Deiss who was appointed Managing Director of ‘Ports Normands Associés’, last November.

By decree of the President of the French Republic, on January 12th inst., Nicolas Occis was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Rouen. As a Chief Civil and Forestry Engineer, Nicolas Occis succeeds Philippe Deiss having held the post in Rouen since 2009 and appointed Managing Director of Ports Normands Associes (Associated Normandy Ports). Nicolas Occis also takes the presidency of the HAROPA EIG for the year 2015. He thus succeeds Hervé Martel, Executive Director of HAROPA – Port of Le Havre, as the Executive Director of each HAROPA port is president in turns.

Graduate from the Ecole Polytechnique (year X 95), and from the French Civil Engineering School, Nicolas Occis was, from 2012, deputy sub-director for ports and waterway transport at the General Division of infrastructure, transportation and the sea within the Ministry of Ecology, sustainable Development and Energy. In this post, he especially contributed to the drawing-up and implementation of the French port strategy, with the aim of improving French ports’ competitiveness. 

Nicolas Occis presented his best wishes for the New Year to the port communities, as the new executive director of Rouen and HAROPA president, trusting that everybody should work in close cooperation and confidence to strengthen the promising results recorded by HAROPA at the dawn of its fourth year of existence.
