Floating Production Report - March 2013

Recently Energy Maritime Associates released a report assessing the outlook for floating production systems, including FPSOs, FLNGs, Spars and more.

The business sector continues to accelerate. Order backlog for production floaters hit an all-time high this month, the number of potential new floater projects is 15% higher than March last year and deepwater drillers are reporting high utilization of ultra-deep drill equipment.

Based on our analysis of the underlying drivers, we expect orders for 124 to 190 production floaters over the next five years – with 160 orders our best estimate.   In comparison, 114 production floaters were ordered over the past five years.
