Suggested Mariner Separation Documents by SOCP
The Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) is pleased to announce the availability of two new Mariner Preparedness Checklists, which has been developed to assist seafarers in organizing their family, property, legal and financial records before they leave home for their tour of duty onboard vessels.
The US Armed Forces have long provided these types of checklists to their deploying personnel. SOCP recognized a similar need for civilian mariners and with the assistance of the US Navy, developed the SOCP Mariner Preparedness Checklist which includes two checklists that are complimentary to each other.

These documents will not only assist the mariners who will be away from home and family for an extended period of time, but should prove valuable to any person who will be facing an extended separation.
Industry awareness, training and guidance are vital to ensure the safety and security of our mariners and U.S. flag vessels. We hope these lists will provide guidance to the mariners before they leave for tour of duty.
