PFI Marine Electric Starts Year-Round Service in Dutch Harbor, Alaska
Pacific Fishermen Shipyard and Electric, LLC (PFI Marine Electric) announced today that it will now be providing year round marine electrical services in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, as well as the Puget Sound area, maintaining marine electricians on site 24/7.
Seattle’s PFI Marine Electric shares facilities with Dutch Harbor’s Lunde Marine Electronics to provide marine electrical services in Alaska along with Lunde Marine’s electronic services. The PFI Marine Electrical service will now be expanded to year-round, 24/7 coverage of not only season openers, but now for off season repair periods as well. Operations will expand at the store and shop facilities shared by the two independent companies at 1558 East Point Road in Dutch Harbor.
Senior Electricians Ben Eche and Janusz Zabawa will rotate to provide year-round 24/7 service, while supported by Seattle GM Jeremy McWhirter. Long time Seattle Electrician Hans Sealander provides continuity when the distant water fleet comes south, while PFI Marine Electric’s UL certified electrical panel shop produces custom UL Certified switchboards and electrical control systems.
PFI Marine Electric is now offering retrofit NightWatch alarm and monitoring panels, stocked in Dutch Harbor, and Aqua-Sonar flow measurement gauges by Clean Marine Systems. PFI Marine Electric is the local distributor for NightWatch alarm and monitoring systems, www.night-watch.com, which has several recent installations including Northern Marine Yacht’s M/Y AFTER EIGHT, M/Y BELLA BRI and the Pierce County ferry M/V CHRISTINE ANDERSON. PFI Marine Electric worked closely with Lance Farr, the owner of the 104’ F/V KEVLEEN K, to retrofit the 1968 MARCO 94’ series king crabber with a NightWatch shipboard alarm and monitoring system.
The NightWatch display panel for the alarms can also be programmed as flow measurement gauges when coupled with Clean Marine Systems Aqua-Sonar www.cleanmarinesystems.com ultrasonic flow measurement instrumentation. Aqua-Sonar flow gauges have no pipe penetrations to foul like traditional paddle wheel or magnetic sensors. The value of accurate flow measurement, immune to traditional breakdowns, is immeasurable for live crab circulation, refrigerated seawater, engine cooling and fuel optimization.
Aqua-Sonar flow gauges are available as a separate system for fuel measurement and other fluids, with 6" full-color touch screen and data logger, network ready. A portable Aqua-Sonar is also available for trouble shooting blocked flows, as recently demonstrated onboard the F/V CASCADE MARINER, diagnosing an oil cooler flow failure approved by the USCG. For onboard diagnostics on seatrials or shoreside, a mobile Aqua-Sonar ultrasonic flow measurement unit is available for rent at PFI Marine Electric’s Seattle location.
