'Deadliest Catch' Boat Engulfed in Flames
More than one hundred firefighters responded to a three-alarm fire onboard a fishing boat in Seattle’s Interbay.
The Arctic Dawn, previously a crabbing vessel featured on the Discovery Channel’s series “Deadliest Catch,” caught fire around 2 a.m. PDT Tuesday morning.
Firefighters immediatley responded to the scene where they fought the fire from the pier and also from a police boat and a fireboat. Fire crews were able to contain the fire and kept it from spreading to the nearby Kodiak, another fishing vessel.
The ship captain was asleep onboard when the fire started, the Seattle Fire Department reports that the smoke woke him up and he escaped alive.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
