Singapore-based Firm Converts HFO Boiler Into Dual Fuel
Job includes full re-tubing, fuel system conversion equipment, automatic combustion control and others
The Harris Pye Group has secured its first order for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of its own complete boiler system on a floating production and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The project involves converting two existing MHI roof-fired boilers from burning heavy fuel oil (HFO) to consuming dual fuel, in the form of field gas and marine diesel oil (MDO), it said.
The job includes full re-tubing, fuel system conversion equipment, automatic combustion control, burner management system and skids for field gas, MDO and atomising steam.
"Being able to offer complete systems is something that has been within Harris Pye’s capabilities for some years.," said John Kinman, managing director of Harris Pye Singapore.
"Many of our clients strongly requested that we add the turnkey provision of design, supply, install and commission to our portfolio. This turnkey option has real appeal to clients such as SBM, Modec and Saipem.
"There are only a limited number of companies which can offer this technology and equipment to the market, let alone offer the turnkey possibility."
