Maritime specialist pledges financial assistance to boost worldwide access to eLearning.

London, UK (6th April 2009): eLearning expert Coracle has launched an Education Fund to give financial aid to its students, who might otherwise be unable to afford to undertake studies.

Spurred on by requests from students for financial assistance with course fees and assistance with conducting research into available grants, the UK-based company has worked to remove the financial barriers to eLearning.

Company Founder and Managing Director, James Tweed says: “We feel that eLearning naturally transcends barriers of language, geography, race, gender and physical abilities – so it’s high time we added finance to that list.

“We have established an Education Fund to meet that aim and have already allocated our first awards.” March 27th marked the deadline for entries for the second round of funding.

Available to individuals, students can apply for funding through the Coracle website at www.CoracleOnline.com

As the Coracle Education Fund grows over time, the aim is to provide grant research facilities and to further develop the concept of immersive learning, says Mr. Tweed.

The Coracle Education Fund is part-funded by an innovative advertising scheme through Coracle sister website, www.ShippingPodcasts.com. Advertisers benefit from a number of namechecks in free-to-air podcasts, logo postings, company hyperlinks and promotion in Coracle email newsletters, with half of the campaign fee channeled to the Coracle Education Fund.
