One of ours’ needs help—Rose Connell of Seabulk Tankers, Inc needs a kidney- please help in some way.

The Rally for Rose web site (http://www.rallyforrose.com) has informative information about the causes of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), symptoms for its early detection and the important functions of the kidneys.

The Web site also features a Q&A with Rose about her own personal struggle with the disease since 1996 and her eventual need for a kidney transplant and the ongoing search for a living donor. The Web site explains the benefits of receiving a kidney from a living donor for transplantation and touches on the devastating news she has received that some of her closest friends and family who have stepped forward to save her life have so far been unsuccessfully matched.

Rose’s site has other interactive features including a ’snapshots’ photo album, a message board where visitors can post messages of hope for Rose and a forum where visitors can join conversation about a variety of topics relating to CKD. Visitors can also find information on volunteering in their local communities to help spread the word about early detection of CKD.

The Web site also features helpful source links to organizations such as the National Kidney Foundation and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) for further reading.
