Russian Warship Fuel Spill No Longer Threatening Irish Coast
Coast Guard says there is no immediate threat from oil spill.
The fuel spill that occurred about 10 days off the coast of Ireland is no longer a threat to the coastline. Currently, it is moving at about five nautical miles a day and is being kept parallel to the coastline by currents. The oil is continuing to weather and disperse over a wide area, according to an Irish Coast Guard spokeswoman.
Meanwhile, a senior Russian naval delegation led by Vice Admiral Popov met with the Minister of State at the Department of the Marine. The Russian navy admits responsibility for the spill and expressed its regrets.
