Harris Corporation has been awarded an order from General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GD-AIS) to produce, test and deliver two electronic support measure suites for the U.S. Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) program.

The cutting-edge AN/SLD-4 electronic surveillance and countermeasure suites will be integrated onboard two new LCS ships, supporting advanced situational awareness and capabilities to address sophisticated threats in the evolving maritime operating environment.

“As the newest ships in the Navy’s fleet, LCS vessels will face the most modern threats in the maritime battlespace for years to come,” said Rich Sorelle, president, Harris Electronic Warfare business unit.  “Harris ESM technology will help provide our sailors the critical capability they need to overcome these challenges well into the future.”

The two AN/SLD-4 systems represent the fourth purchase order under a contract Harris received in 2012.  Delivery of the ESM suites to GD-AIS is expected in late 2016. This technology is part of a suite of Harris electronic warfare technologies designed to enable domestic and international customers to perform their critical missions.
