Storm Pulls Cruise Ship From Dock at Port Canaveral

Strong winds from a storm pulled a Carnival cruise ship away from the dock at Port Canaveral on Wednesday afternoon.

The Carnival Pride was docked in Port Canaveral for a daylong call during a seven-day voyage from Baltimore, Maryland.

Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen said some crew and some guests were aboard the ship when the strong winds hit but no one was injured. The Pride was quickly returned to its dock and where it remained overnight Twelve hours behind schedule, the Carnival Pride set sail Thursday morning around 6:15 a.m.

The cruise line had cancelled the ships next scheduled port, Nassau. The itinerary has been changed to include an overnight stay in Freeport, where it is expected to arrive at 4:00 Thursday.
