Pirates armed with knives boarded a Japanese tanker and robbed the crew on Sunday. No one was injured and the ship was undamaged and left to resume its voyage.

The Panama-flagged 2000- built, 30,350 dwt combined chemical and oil tanker Chemroad Luna is operated by Japan’s Iino Kaiun Kaisha and was traveling between Singapore and China.

Pirates boarded the chemical tanker while it was sailing off Indonesia’s Anambas Islands, forcing the crew to hand over their money. The pirates fled the vessel, leaving the crew unharmed and ship on her way.

Officials have not released details about the amount of money stolen or the number of attackers.
