Photos: Turkish Responders Put Out Vessel Fire

[Brief] On Tuesday night off of Hereke, Turkey, the Turkish-flagged tanker Izmail 2 caught fire. She called for assistance, and Izmit Vessel Traffic Services immediately dispatched the Turkish Coastal Safety Administration fast response boat Kiyem 2 and the tugboat Söndüren 7 to the scene.

The Kiyem 2 helped to bring the fire under control with backup from the tug, and the Izmail 2 was anchored off Hereke just after midnight. Three crewmembers were evacuated from the vessel, and no casualties or pollution were reported.
