Marlink Accredited as 'Platinum Partner' by Inmarsat
Global maritime satellite communications provider awarded highest partner status by Inmarsat
Marlink, the world’s largest provider of maritime satellite communications, has been certified as a ‘Platinum Partner’ by Inmarsat. The Platinum status is the highest level of Inmarsat’s Partner Accreditation Programme, confirming Marlink’s strength in the MSS market with its 8000 seagoing vessels with Inmarsat equipment.
“We are delighted to be accredited as a Platinum Partner which is testament to Marlink's positition in the maritime satellite communications market. For more than thirty years we have worked closely with Inmarsat to establish a strong network of technical and service personnel and to date we have installed 8000 vessels with Inmarsat products and have more than 370 VLAs (Very Large Allowance) in our portfolio,” comments Tore Morten Olsen, CEO, Marlink.
As a global provider of satellite communications services to the maritime market, Marlink is the largest partner to be awarded Platinum status. Currently, every fourth vessel going to sea with MSS on-demand satellite communications on-board has purchased the hardware and services from Marlink. The latest accreditation will enable Marlink to further develop and enhance the Inmarsat services Marlink provides to customers worldwide.
“Marlink has been highly successful in promoting the benefits of FleetBroadband to its user base and has made a significant contribution to our maritime revenues,” said Alex Stewart, Head of Channel Development at Inmarsat. “As a leading distributor of our most important service in our most important market, it is entirely appropriate that Marlink becomes one of our first Platinum accredited partners.”
