The Maritime Executive Magazine reports the SMM Hamburg show is vibrant and filled with innovative products for the industry.
Today, the MarEx is on the floor at SMM and attending at a number of the events. We’re glad to report there is lots of enthusiasm and optimism about the future of shipbuilding. And, as most already know there lots to discuss regarding reduced emissions and low sulfur bunkers. Many of the conference events are dealing with environmental issues as well.
The Global Maritime Environmental Congress meets today and tomorrow to deal with the impact of shipping on the environment and what is being done at the legislative and regulatory level.
The Green Ship of the Future conference sponsored by Danish Marine is addressing the reduction of the impact from ships on the environment, and, how the IMO is responding to climate change and the innovative products and services to deal with these issues.
Other items on the agenda today have been exhaust gas cleaning, sailor communications and water treatment systems.
Tomorrow (September 8) the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology’s event will deal with offshore oil and gas, deep sea mining, and wind energy. There are again meetings on water ballast issues, marine coatings, supply market opportunities as well as environmental monitoring systems.
