Maritime exhibitions in Romania and China in May 2012

After a successful edition of Europort in Ahoy Rotterdam in November of 2011, the maritime exhibition is branching out abroad again in 2012. In May of this year Europort Romania and CIMPS-Europort are on the agenda.

Europort characterizes itself as one of the largest, international maritime exhibitions in the world. Every other year Rotterdam is the centre for maritime connections with exhibitors and visitors from all over the world. Next to this, Ahoy organizes maritime exhibitions in important shipbuilding regions abroad under the flag-ship of the brand Europort. Raymond Siliakus, exhibition manager of organizer Ahoy Rotterdam: “Europort brings maritime professionals in contact to do business worldwide. International suppliers of maritime equipment get into contact with shipowners and buyers from areas of distribution that are important to them. By attaching a networking programme outside of the exhibition hours many international cooperation deals are sealed.”

Europort Romania
From 8 until 10 May 2012 Europort Romania takes place in the most important port city of the country: Constan?a. This small-scale networking event is organized by Ahoy Rotterdam in cooperation with the Constan?a Chamber of Commerce and the Netherlands Embassy in Bucharest for the ninth time already. Romania has 12 large shipyards that are involved with repair, maintenance and new building of a multitude of vessels among which bulk carriers, container ships, patrol boats, multipurpose vessels, inland ships, tugboats, LNG carriers, supply vessels, naval specials and dredging vessels. Traditionally the members meeting of shipbuilding organization ANCONAV takes place during Europort Romania. Informal network receptions and a visit to the Daewoo Mangalia shipyard are also part of the programme.

CIMPS-Europort
CIMPS-Europort takes place in Nanjing, the capital of the province of Jiangsu, from 23 until 25 May 2012. This province holds the first place in the shipbuilding industry in China. The maritime industry in Jiangsu focusses ever more on the application of internationally advanced production technologies and focusses more and more on complex vessels. This is precisely what Europort is known for and why Europort and UAEC have combined their efforts to organize the third edition of the China International Marine, Port & Shipbuilding Fair together. The ambition of both is to grow into one of the leading maritime exhibitions in Asia. Simultaneously with CIMPS-Europort the Offshore Technology Equipment Exhibition (OTE) takes place.

The next edition of Europort takes place from 5 until 8 November 2013 in Ahoy Rotterdam. Europort Istanbul also takes place in 2013, from 20 until 23 March.
