Vietnamese Ship and 23 Crewmen Goes Missing Off Philippines
According to the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, a Vietnamese ship and its 23 crew members have gone missing off the Philippines. Vinalines lost contact with its ship, Vinalines Queen, off the Luzon Island right after it tilted 18 degrees.
The Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan, Japan and China have all been asked to assist in search and rescue, but due to bad weather, they have not yet been able to access the site where the ship went missing. The Vinalines Queen was carrying almost 55,000 tons of nickel ore from Indonesia to China.
The ship and crew are still nowhere in sight. Helicopters will most likely begin aerial searches to look for victims. Updates will be given as they come in.
