Video released Wednesday, shows tables, chairs and passengers being thrown around the inside of a cruise ship during a sudden storm back in July 2008.

P&O’s Pacific Sun cruise liner was hit with huge waves about 650 kilometers off the coast of New Zealand.

The Australian cruise ship rolled during the incident, injuring 42 of the 2403 passengers and crew onboard.

CCTV footage from inside the ship, made public by the website Liveleaks, Wednesday, shows passengers and crew being tossed around the room along with chairs, tables and various other items.

Injuries sustained during the chaos mostly included cuts and bruises, however there were reports of broken ribs and limbs, and a fractured pelvis. The worst injuries occurred when machines in the ships casino fell on top of passengers and crew.

The Pacific Sun was returning from the islands of Vanuatu after week long cruise when its side was hit with huge waves. The ship rolled in the evening time just when passengers were sitting down for dinner.

The incident was fully investigated and the line has since taken numerous safety precautions, including bolting down tables.
