Port of Singapore

Published Jul 28, 2015 7:44 PM by The Maritime Executive

The Singapore Maritime and Port Authority is soliciting Requests for Proposal (RFP) for LNG bunkering licenses. Singapore is today the world’s leading fuel bunkering hub and it is positioning for the world’s next-generation fleet, which is expected to move away from fossil fuels into natural gas fuels.

RFP candidates will detail end-to-end LNG bunkering supply solutions and present supply and delivery models. Successful applicants of the RFP will begin LNG bunkering in early 2017.

Singapore aims to accommodate all vessels operating on LNG fuel by 2020 and by issuing bunker supply licenses today it will position the Singapore Maritime as an LNG hub. Singapore currently sells about 3.5 million tons of marine fuel each month.

The RFP deadline is September 30 for interested parties to submit their proposals.
