Ship Owner DOF ASA Take Proactive Position for Ballast Water Treatment Solutions Aboard their OSV's

DOF ASA and their subsidiaries have enetered into a Frame Agreement with leading supplier PG Marine Group - Ing Per Gjerdum AS, to secure a planned, and structured implementation of Ballast Water Treatment System for a large number of vessels in their 70-ships fleet.  

Through this agreement DOF has secured priority from one of the leading manufacturers, and suppliers of such systems, and PG is obligated to serve their demand for engineering deesign, hardware delivery and commissioning of PG-Hyde GUARDIAN solutions ahead of the cue which will arise.

It is commonly accepted that the IMO resolutions of BWT will become ratified during 2012, in which vessels of this category having its keels laid after 1.1.2009 must have such solutions fitted at its delivery, latest 12.31.2011 - or at first scheduled docking thereafter.  Currently 31 flag nations (of minimum 30 required), and 26.44% of the world tonnage (of minimum 35% required) have ratified the resolution, with more large nations at the threshold of signing.

The particulars of the PG-Hyde GUARDIAN ballast water treatment sollutions are:

  • Simplest possible technology to meet IMO requirements
  • Small footprint, very flexible lay-out for fitting units
  • Large variety of models from 60m3/h to 6.000m3/h
  • ATEX 100 explosion proof versions available

PG has won a strong market position in this initial stage, with more than 100 units secured in ordered, which represent approximately 50% of the total Hyde GUARDIAN sales till date world wide.  PG represent Hyde GUARDIAN globally for offshore service vessels, and have secured contacts from all continents already.  The Norwegian Ship Owners have already been frontrunners for BWTS, which is also further confirmed by this agreement signed by DOF.
