Ship Hits Dock, Damages Crane

Horizon Lines ship, Horizon Challenger, is expected to arrive in San Juan on schedule after clipping a dock and damaging a crane at the APM Terminals (APMT) facility in Houston on Friday.

In a joint statement released today, Horizon Lines and APMT said, “After being released by the tug, the vessel (Challenger) clipped the dock and damaged an APM terminals crane.”

The companies say they quickly fixed the damage and the incident only modestly delayed the ship’s departure to San Juan, where it is now expected to arrive on time.

The companies also expressed regrets for any inconvenience the incident might have caused to their customers.
