Globe Wireless announced that the company has been selected by “K” Line to provide a turnkey implementation of the Inmarsat FleetBroadband service.

“K” Line is one of the largest ships owner/operators in the world, which includes container ships, car carriers, bulk carriers, gas carriers and tankers. The signed agreement between “K” Line and Globe Wireless entails the up gradation of its service in the vessels presently using the Globe Wireless network.

Frank J. Coles, President & CEO of Globe Wireless commented, “We are very excited to assist “K” Line with this comprehensive IP satellite upgrade. Our recent appointment as an Inmarsat FleetBroadband Distribution Partner with Inmarsat, combined with the Globe Total IP Solution and our ability to Touch-the-Ship directly anywhere in the world make Globe Wireless the logical choice for a project of this scale.” Globe Wireless currently provides voice & data solutions to “K” Line.

The roll out of FleetBroadband on the “K” Line ships has already begun. Globe Wireless has over 40 employee technicians located across the world that will install and configure the FleetBroadband equipment, and deploy a new network configuration aboard the “K” Line ships.
