MariMatch stimulates new technological cooperation

The international maritime sector comes together in Europort 2011 in Ahoy Rotterdam from 8 until 11 November. Over 1,000 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors will meet each other in world port city Rotterdam. MariMatch offers an extra possibility to get in contact with international business partners on Wednesday 9 November. In an easily accessible manner meetings will be facilitated and extra business opportunities created in the field of innovative technology.

This international matchmaking event is organised by Enterprise Europe Network; a European network of intermediary organisations focused on technology matchmaking of which Syntens and Agentschap NL are a part in the Netherlands. The targets of the network is to achieve more business with advanced technology by establishing contacts between parties from different countries.

The concept is simple: maritime professionals make a profile on the website www.europort2011.b2b-match.com, search actively and are sought actively as well. They send a request to the company whom they want to come into contact with and on 9 November they will get the opportunity to speak to each other for 30 minutes. These talks take place in the Congress & Meeting Centre of Ahoy Rotterdam during Europort. Participation is free of charge because of the support from the European Commission and the Ministry of Economy, Agriculture and Innovation.

Freek Smulders, Business Developer with MasterShip, has positive experiences with MariMatch:  “Marimatch is a very efficient way to have network talks. You can be more pro-active and you make yourself visible in the market. Thanks to the database and the option to invite parties for a talk you establish contacts with companies in a focussed manner, that offers so much added value that I am participating for a third time now.”
