Credential Processing Time Improving Dramatically Says U.S. Coast Guards NMC
NMC Commanding Officer David Stalfort’s December report shows a “62 percent reduction in Coast Guard (net) processing time for mariner credentials.”
According to an E-mail announcement sent to industry on Wednesday, the National Maritime Center's (NMC) Monthly Performance Report for December has been published on their WEB site. The Coast Guard announced that in December, the NMC achieved new records for credential processing time; 51 days overall processing time, 21 days net processing time, with rework percentage at only 1%.

The ISO 9001-2000 compliant organization’s report also reflects one full calendar year of centralized operations. Highlights for 2009 include:
• 62% reduction in Coast Guard (net) processing time for mariner credentials.
• 42% reduction in overall (gross) processing time for mariner credentials.
• A total of 70,987 credentials produced and issued to mariners.
