ASBAs Annual Cargo Conference is Becoming the Must Attend Shipping Event of the Year!
Once again, speakers treated the delegates to their views on a myriad of shipping topics, such as LNG, Brazilian Oil, Grain Markets, Steel, Iran Sanctions, Maritime and the Environment, Ship Finance and Recycling ending with Arlie Sterling of Marsoft’s informative “ASBA Index”. ASBA was delighted to welcome Jack Buono, General Manager of ExxonMobil Refining and Supply Company, back to the Cargo Conference as the Keynote Speaker.
ASBA has enjoyed record attendance again this year with delegates from the US, Canada, Mexico, Central & South America, Islands of the Caribbean and Norway. The Miami setting is clearly a winner providing inexpensive and easy access from major North and South American cities. Our delegates include dry cargo and tanker owner/operators and charterers who outnumber the ship broker and agent representatives. Many returning delegates take advantage of the opportunities to meet with customers thus saving them a business trip or two.
The conference golf outing and social events, made more enjoyable each year thanks to the generosity of our corporation sponsors, enable delegates and speakers to interact on an informal basis. As one of this year’s speakers noted, “The Cargo Conference is like a family reunion because so many participate year after year!” Check our website to view the conference photos and program. Hope to see you in 2012 – Sept. 26 – 28 at the Eden Roc Resort.
