2nd Annual Global Derivatives

Published Jan 10, 2011 7:49 AM by The Maritime Executive

Capital Link Forum | Thursday, September 9, 2010 | New York City

Today's global derivatives markets are growing increasingly complex and sophisticated. Recent legislation requires further governing regulation. These changes will shape the future derivatives market in energy, commodities, freight and trading.

As the global economy continues to face severe uncertainty, the use of derivatives are still an important class of financial instruments that are central to financial and trade markets. Derivatives offer diverse types of risk protection and allow innovative investment strategies, such as the use of Forward Freight Agreements (FFAs).

Now entering its second year, Capital Link’s Global Derivatives Forum through a series of panels and presentations aims to provide a comprehensive review on the development, risk management, utilization and outlook of derivatives, in addition to the legal and accounting complexities arising from the use of these financial instruments. The Form also intends to enhance the information flow on how freight markets and future markets are linked and to increase the overall awareness about global derivatives to an extensive audience of investors.

The Forum's target audience include: hedge fund managers, institutional investors and analysts, bankers, financial advisors, financial media and other qualified investors.

The event will be open to the whole buy and sell side brokerage community.
