EPA Hosts Hearing on Clean Air Standards for Large Ships
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public hearing today, Thursday, August 6, in Long Beach, Calif., regarding the agency’s proposed rule to set more protective engine and fuel standards for U.S. flagged ships that would harmonize with international standards and lead to cleaner air.
The hearing is an opportunity for stakeholders and members of the public to voice their opinions on the proposed rule.

The hearing will continue until everyone has had a chance to speak.

Written comments will be accepted on the regulation as well. Comment period will close on September 5. The EPA will consider written comments submitted during the comment period with the same weight as oral comments presented during the public hearing.
