The Coast Guard responds to drifting 650-ft car carrier MORNING CEDAR, 17 miles from Bobrof Island.
The Coast Guard had been monitoring the drifting vessel since Dec. 5th when theship's captain reported that the ship had lost steering capabilities.
On Firday the crews from the Coast Guard Cutter Sherman and an Air Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter delivered steering system technicials to the Singapore flagged -MORNING CEDAR.
The ship is owned by EUKOR Car Carriers and is managed by Wallenius Marine, both based in Singapore.
