Shipping Company Helps Fight Hunger in Local Community

RED BANK, NJ - In an effort to give back to its community this holiday season, Troy Container Line Ltd., one of the largest American-owned NVOCCs, today announced plans to donate 2,000 hot meals to Lunch Break, an organization that works daily to help fight hunger in the local community.  The dinners will be donated in the name of Troy’s clients, vendors and friends.

“In lieu of business-to-business gifting, Troy Container Line looks forward to giving back to members of the Red Bank community this holiday season.  After experiencing an increase in demand during the last year, every contribution is incredibly valuable to the organization and the community it serves,” commented Michael Troy, founder and CEO of Troy Container Line, Ltd.

Troy Container Line’s pay-it-forward approach to holiday gifting aims to honor and thank customers via community outreach and support.  Founded more than 28 years ago, Lunch Break endeavors to provide food, clothing and fellowship to community members in need.    In 2010, the non-profit organization served approximately 40,000 meals at its Drs. James Parker Boulevard location and delivered 6,500 lunches to home bound individuals.  In addition to the free hot lunches that are served every Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Lunch Break also works to distribute donated clothing to approximately 350 families every month.
