SUNY Maritime College Announces Jim Lawrence, Chairman, Marine Money International to Serve as Master of Ceremonies for 2012 Admiral’s Scholarship Dinner

Jim Lawrence, Chairman, Marine Money International, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the 2012 SUNY Maritime College Admiral’s Dinner.  The event will be held on the Maritime campus on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.  Funds raised support scholarships for SUNY Maritime College students.  The role of M.C. has previously been held by SUNY Maritime College alumnus Gary Jobson.  Mr. Jobson is internationally recognized as America’s sailing Ambassador.  He won the America’s Cup Race with Ted Turner and has served as ESPN and NBC’s sailing correspondent.  Mr. Lawrence has over 25 years of ship finance experience, and provides clients with a discreet and multi-dimensional look at their business and its future direction. His expertise at managing meetings of investors, bondholders and lenders, in-depth industry knowledge and personal contacts around the world, result in solutions that sustain and protect value.

During the 2012 Admiral’s Dinner, SUNY Maritime College President, Admiral Wendi B. Carpenter, USN (Ret.), will present awards to Crowley Maritime Corporation; Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (Shell Trading and Shipping) and SUNY Maritime alumnus Richard DeSimone, president XL Insurance North America Marine, a global insurance and reinsurance company.

Tickets for the 2012 Admiral's Scholarship Dinner to benefit the State University of New York Maritime College Scholarship Fund are $350 and are available by calling 718-409-4983, or by emailing: [email protected]. The event will be held on the College's Throggs Neck, Bronx, New York, campus beginning at 6 pm. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available. Attire is business dress. All proceeds of the 2012 Admiral's Scholarship Dinner will benefit the SUNY Maritime College Scholarship Fund.
