MITAGS introduces upcoming courses.





LNG TERMINAL OPERATORS COURSE



Upcoming course date: April 26-30, 2010



The course is intended to familiarize LNG terminal personnel with liquefied gas tanker safety and cargo operations. Terminal equipment such as pumps, hard arms, gas compressors, vaporizers, heat exchangers, and shore storage tanks will be included. Classroom training is augmented with opportunities for hands-on application using the cryogenic simulator.

INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS IN THE MARITIME INDUSTRY



Do you know the definitions of NPDES, MARPOL, VGP and NOI? If not, you are encouraged to attend the MITAGS/PMI “Introduction to Environmental Regulations in the Maritime Industry – EPA General Permit for Commercial Vessels” Program. The course will provide detailed updates on the impact of these regulations on the deep sea and tug industry.



-International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).

-U.S. Clean Air Act.

-National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).

-Vessel General Permit (VGP).

-Notice of Intent (NOI).



The next course is scheduled to start on March 31, 2010.
