LPG Tanker Engine Room Explosion on Yangtze River

Panama-flagged crew of 12 saved, but two missing as fire spread uncontrollably on vessel.

the MV GOLDEN CRUX 18, a LPG tanker owned by Daiichi Tanker Company, with a crew of 14 was sailing near the mouth of Yangtze River when the engine room suddenly exploded. The empty ship was transiting from Nantong in Jiangsu Province to the Republic of Korea. The East China Sea Salvage Bureau (ECSSB) rescued 12 sailors who had abandoned the ship on life rafts. The two missing crewmembers were on duty at the time of the explosion. The 11 of the seafarers were Filipinos and one was a Myanmar national. The two missing seamen are Filipinos.
