CIMPS-Europort 2012 Gateway to the No. 1 Shipbuilding Hub in China
The maritime exhibition CIMPS-Europort 2012 will be held from 23 – 25 May in Nanjing, the capital of the province of Jiangsu. This province is the number 1 shipbuilding region of China. With more than 80 large shipyards, the shipbuilding in Jiangsu comprises 35% of the total shipbuilding output in China. No less than 39% of all new shipbuilding orders in China is realised in Jiangsu. The Jiangsu region is increasingly orientated towards advanced technology and 'special purpose ships'. The local supply industry cannot meet the greatly increased demand, so that approximately 70% of all products is imported. This offers great opportunities for international maritime suppliers.
Matchmaking with leading Chinese shipyards
Besides personal meetings at the actual exhibition, a matchmaking event is to be arranged for participants in CIMPS-Europort to establish one-to-one contact with Chinese shipyards, shipowners and ship designers. CSSC, CSIC, Ch Rongsheng, Nantong COSCO, Dayang Shipyards, New Century Shipyards, Yangtze River Shipyards and Kouan Shipyards are examples of Chinese shipyards who will attend the matchmaking.
Offshore hotspot of China
Besides being the number one shipbuilding hub of China, the Jiangsu province is also China’s offshore hotspot. The Jiangsu region is responsible for 45% of the total offshore projects in China. That is why OTE - the Offshore Technology Equipment Exhibition & Conference will be held alongside CIMPS-Europort. By organizing both exhibitions simultaneously a large portion of visitors with an equal interest in both maritime technology as well as the offshore industry will be drawn to visit each show, as the need for advanced technologies is equally large in both sectors.
Strong support from CSSC and CSIC
CIMPS-Europort is organised in close cooperation with the Jiangsu Department of Commerce and is strongly supported by the province, the city, CSSC (China State Shipbuilding Corporation) and CSIC (China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation).
CIMPS-Europort is jointly organised by Europort / Ahoy Rotterdam and UAEC. Europort is one of the world's largest, international maritime exhibitions. The third edition of the China International Marine, Port & Shipbuilding Fair is the first co-production by Europort and UAEC.
Meet the Chinese maritime industry
In the modern, high-tech facilities of the Nanjing International Expo Centre the maritime world will come together to meet with the largest possible representation of the Chinese shipbuilding industry during 3 exhibition days, plus dynamic conference programs, the matchmaking session and trade missions to Jiangsu shipyards, many of whom are physically represented on the exhibition floor as well.
