Published Jan 7, 2011 2:44 PM by The Maritime Executive

ABS Nautical Systems, the world’s fastest growing provider of fleet management software is hosting its annual User Conference 12-14 October in Vancouver BC, Canada. The User Conference draws approximately 150 attendees representing more than 50 companies across the maritime industry.

This year’s conference highlights include a live hands-on demonstration of the new NS5 Micro Server, new barcode scanning technology, class integration and the overall functionality of NS5, ABS Nautical Systems’ current suite of software.

Participants also will take a look at the future of ABS Nautical Systems’ technology, including enhancements in the upcoming version NS5.6. Breakout sessions will address new offerings such as the ability to search for new vendors during any step of the purchasing process though a new partnership with ShipServ, and the new N-Tier (Single Shoreside Database Architecture) functionality, a centralized database with real-time information that can help with the reduction of costs on hardware and support.

ABS Nautical Systems also will address attendees about new incentives including the significant enhancement and expansion ABS recently announced of its Rapid Response Damage Assessment Program. The program allows owners of all new ABS-classed tankers, bulk carriers, large gas carriers, container ships and tank barges free enrollment as of 1 July 2010.

With its technology being based on decades of client-driven research, ABS Nautical Systems looks to this conference as a platform for collaboration with its customers to garner feedback and experiences that will directly impact the future direction of its products and to find the best solutions for the maritime industry’s current needs.

“As one of the leading integrated fleet management software providers, ABS Nautical Systems understands that we have a responsibility to provide not only usability, but stability when it comes to our products,” said Karen Hughey, President and COO.

As ABS Nautical Systems continues to roll out new initiatives, they will continue to invest in the quality of their core products and the services they deliver.
