The cargo ship sank near Shanwei following the collision with the Hong Kong-registered fishing vessel.
11 crewmen were catapulted into the water from the cargo ship, with only 2 being rescued so far. Further search efforts are currently ongoing, although low visibility caused by storms has hindered operations. The Hong Kong government has dispatched a plane and a helicopter to aid in rescue efforts.
