Dometic Marine secured several international orders at a successful Seawork show in Southampton.
Interest was particularly strong in its DuraSea Rooftop air conditioner, which is now available with a heating upgrade, with a number of enquiries from a variety of commercial customers.
Built to endure harsh marine environments, the 12,000 BTU system is the ideal combined cooling and heating solution for smaller commercial vessels such as patrol boats and is installed into any horizontal deck or rooftop location to cool or heat the helm or cabin directly below it. It removes the need to run air ducts or plumbing throughout the vessel’s interior and the heating option can be easily retro-fitted.
Paul Hickinbotham, Director of Sales and Operations, Dometic Marine, said: “We were really pleased with the high level of interest and enquiries from people visiting our stand at this year’s Seawork.
“We took a number of international orders for the DuraSea Rooftop, including an order for six units from a tug boat customer in the central European market. Fischer Panda, the dealer that represented Dometic Marine at Seawork, reported a lot of interest in the DuraSea Rooftop from hovercraft manufacturers, and we are also in discussion with a customer about installing the unit on wind-farm catamarans.”
Launched at this year’s show, Dometic Marine’s new Vectronic electronic equipment cooling unit also attracted a lot of attention and promising leads from customers looking for a unit to cool electronics and machinery on their vessels.
Suited to boats of all sizes, the Vectronic is a powerful, compact and quiet water-cooled unit which has been designed to maintain ideal temperatures in engine rooms and machine spaces to prevent critical components from over-heating.
The new unit adds to Dometic Marine’s range of commercial and workboat specific equipment.
“A number of people were interested in the Vectronic,” added Hickinbotham. “It was very well received and we handled a number of enquiries and provided several quotations.
“A lot of customers were interested in both an air conditioning unit for the people on the vessel and also for the electronics, and we are able to provide both.
“The orders included one for underwater vessels, with the company needing air conditioning for the people and also a cooling system for the racks of electronics on the boat. We also had a number of enquires about the Vectronic for installation on unmanned crafts.”
Former winners of an industry-renowned IBEX Innovation Award, Dometic Marine has revolutionised self-contained cooling and heating, offering an extensive range of benefits including improved performance, reduced noise and vibration, as well as increased durability.
