Vikand has established a new ownership structure that will allow it to more quickly meet the demand for its high quality medical offerings for cruise lines and the maritime industry.

The new structure will ensure that the high quality medical team working at Vikand will be better able to service their expanding customer base and new demands. MHG Services relinquished its ownership position within Vikand on March 31, 2015. The majority owners in Vikand will now be Peter Hult and Dr Bill Heymann. Vikand’s leadership team will include Peter Hult, President; Dr Bill Heymann, Medical Director; and a world class management team.

“Vikand is a rapidly growing medical management company, and for it to continue to expand we have mutually agreed to spin-off Vikand from MHG’s insurance business,” said Andrew Dudzinski, MHG’s Chairman and CEO. “There is a growing need for Vikand’s services in the maritime industry, and we are proud to have played a key role in the development of Vikand.”

“Our goal is to transform and deliver value to our customers by providing a seamless and integrated solution to maritime healthcare and medical operations,” said Peter Hult. “With our experienced medical team, the maritime industry will have access to medical expertise, better risk management and scalable solutions that offer significant cost savings while improving the service levels provided to their passengers and crew. Our solution has already generated a 100 percent increase year-over-year in revenue and volume. We want to structure ourselves to appropriately meet and fulfil this demand.”

“I know that the team at Vikand will continue to develop new medical services and focus on “wowing” our customers, just as MHG has always committed to doing,” says Hult. “I will miss the opportunity to work day-to-day with the wonderful people at MHG and want to thank and acknowledge them. We will continue to have a close relationship with MHG and will support each other’s operations, mutual clients and business partners.”
