INTTRA Expands Alliance with Worldwide Information Network

Published Mar 13, 2014 3:11 PM by The Maritime Executive

INTTRA, the world's largest multi-carrier e-commerce network for ocean shipping, today announced an expanded strategic alliance with Worldwide Information Network (WIN), a cloud-based connectivity platform specifically for independent freight forwarders, to drive the development of new e-shipping solutions for WIN's growing network of freight forwarders. This will enable WIN users to gain enhanced visibility, automation capabilities, and improved data quality using INTTRA's global e-shipping platform linked to 52 ocean carriers.

INTTRA has the largest global e-commerce platform supporting the full containerized shipping process -- from finding a voyage to booking services to freight invoicing. Over 220,000 users access INTTRA's capabilities via the web, within applications, or through system integrations to existing shipping systems and transportation management software (TMS). WIN's platform connects forwarding agents with each other -- as well as with air and sea carriers, brokers, and other logistics service providers -- to enable secure, digital shipment-level collaboration in the cloud.

This expanded alliance with INTTRA enables WIN to create new end-to-end shipment and track-and-trace solutions that help origination and destination freight forwarders gain the benefits of INTTRA's platform, along with the easy access it offers to high-quality container event shipping data. WIN was developed in close collaboration with WCA, a member of the ELITE Association of Logistics Networks. ELITE's 10 networks are comprised of over 6,200 member offices in 195 countries with annual revenues in excess of (US) $60 billion.

"This expanded alliance with INTTRA will enable WIN to accelerate the delivery of a new generation of digital shipping and visibility solutions to help independent freight forwarders excel on the global playing field," said John DeBenedette, Managing Director, WIN. "INTTRA's innovative technology is essential to ocean freight shipping, and the high-quality data delivered through its platform will help independent freight forwarders gain the kind of visibility necessary to satisfy customers, ship with efficiency and succeed in a competitive global market."

"Aligning closely with WIN reflects our strategy to enable all companies engaged in global trade regardless of size or industry, to benefit from INTTRA's global e-commerce capabilities, carrier relationships and technology," said Ron DeBlis, Senior Vice President, Global Sales, INTTRA. "We look forward to helping WIN drive a new generation of solutions to more freight forwarders through best-in-class e-shipping solutions and data."
