Contract Signals Innovation in Japanese LNG Transport

GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) (ISIN FR0011726835 Euronext Paris:   GTT) announces the notification of two LNGCs (Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier) to be built by Japanese shipbuilder Imabari. These large vessels will be equipped with the innovative Mark III Flex containment system pioneered by GTT and also includes a new MEGI propulsion system.

GTT, world leader in the design of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG, and Imabari, world-class shipbuilder based in Japan, announce the signing of an agreement for the design and construction of two LNG carriers using GTT’s containment system for delivery in 2017.  

These vessels will be operated by Elcano, a Spanish ship owner with a long history of operating GTT-designed LNG carriers.
